In what may viewed as the final day of the Thanksgiving of the draft season (with Christmas being Draft Day), scouts got a chance to check out maybe the deepest position of the draft: the defensive backs.

Guys like Taylor Mays and Eric Berry were sure to treat the scouts with some amazing athletic displays, and they didn't disapoint one pit, especially Berry.

We'll take a look at which guys really helped themselves today and which of the few players (I don't know if any guys hurt themselves all that much) that may have slipped a little on the boards.  Biggest Winners

Reshad Jones, S, Georgia

I was never very high on Reshad Jones, as he fell pretty quickly down my list as his junior season progressed. I thought it would have been much smarter if he stayed in school, and I'll stand by that.

But, Jones's athletic ability really shined today at the Combine, as he ran well in most of the drills and showed good enough hips for a strong safety.

He posted a respectable 4.54 forty time with a 39.5 inch vertical leap and 24 reps at the bench, all very solid for a player like himself. He was viewed in my eyes as a late rounder, but this workout and he's sophomore film may push him up to the mid rounds once again.

Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise State

It's unfortunate that Wilson didn't run the forty yard dash, as I feel he would have been one of the best time-wise for any defensive backs.

Still, he appeared chiseled and in great shape for a sub-6'0 corner with shutdown potential. He showed his ability to stick with bigger, more physical receivers by posted 25 reps in the bench press.

He's been in my Top 5 for a while now, and I feel with this showing and another solid showing at his pro day, he could be a lock for the 1st round.

Brandon Ghee, CB, Wake Forest

I was never sold on Ghee being the possible dominant sleeper cornerback in this draft class like some I've talked to. However, he displayed a great athletic showing at the combine and may have raised a little on my board thanks to his consistent film and obvious abilities.

His 4.45 forty time was among the tops for any defensive back at the combine, but he wasn't done there. He was among the tops in the 3 cone, short shuttle, and long shuttle as well, and was a complete athlete all day.

With such a deep cornerback class, he could have a wide range of spots he could end up. But, with him being maybe the biggest winner of the defensive backs, he may be a solid 2nd rounder.

Biggest Losers

Joe Haden, CB, Florida

For the most part, Haden may have fallen very slightly on boards because of not performing as well as projected. Viewed as one of the best overall athletes in this draft class, I think he still holds that title, but maybe not as much in these drills.

Still, a 4.57 forty time is alarming for a cornerback like Haden, and a 35 inch vertical leap is somewhat pedestrian for what we expected. He performed only average in other drills, and probably didn't move UP on any boards due to this combine.

Trevard Lindley, CB, Kentucky

As said before the day starter, I felt Lindley needed a big day or else he was in for big trouble come draft day. Viewed as one of the top cornerback prospects to start the season, Lindley couldn't match his junior production in 2009.

He only ran a 4.53 forty time with 9 reps at the bench press. At only 5'11 and 183, he lacks a true defined role in the pros, as he's not strong enough to be a help in run support consistently, and his film says that he may not be capable of being a starter.

Chad Jones, S, LSU

Not many safties had a "bad" day today, but if for our third and final dissapointment, I'd have to go with Jones. He really roams the field well and did throughout his career at LSU.

I figured that he would have a very solid showing, being among the best in the shuttles and forty times. But he was average compared to the other safties in this class, running only a 4.57. Plus, he only had a 9'7 broad jump and boasted 9 bench press reps.

Viewed by some as a 2nd rounder, I think he may have fallen just a little thanks to this very deep defensive back class.
